Flagstaff, Ariz., runner Rob Krar, who has established himself as one of the top ultrarunners in the world over the past two years, recently spent time with filmmaker Joel Wolpert on a short film project shot entirely within the Grand Canyon. In Depressions: A Few Moments From 30 Miles in the Canyon, Krar opens up about suffering from depression coupled with his love of ultrarunning. None of the shots in the film were staged, creating an authentic look at Krar’s remarkable ability on the trail coupled with revealing insight into his struggles.
