Bend, Oregon will play host to the USA Track & Field Cross Country Championships in 2016 and 2017, the organization announced this week.

The race was last held in Bend in 2013. The 2014 race was in Boulder, Colo., and the 2015 race is taking place in Boulder this weekend. The 2016 and 2017 races will continue to be in early February on the calendar.

“Bend proved to be a wonderful host when the city staged the Club Cross Country Championships in 2013,” said USATF CEO Max Siegel. “Our athletes had a great experience and we’re happy to introduce Bend to another group of elite athletes who will be competing at an individual level.”

The race will be held at River’s Edge Golf Course, and will be similar to the one used in 2013 with a few modifications.

Bend is also hosting the 2015 USA Mountain Running Championships, which will take place July 25 at the Mt. Bachelor Ski Area.
