Who knew a wrong turn could be so right?

Throwing it back to the 1994 New York City Marathon, Mexicans German Silva and Benjamin Paredes were jockeying for position at the front of the race. That is until just a half mile from the finish line, when Silva followed a police vehicle off the course — which provided Paredes with a huge lead.

An easy win seemed inevitable for Paredes, but Silva retraced his steps, caught up with Paredes, and won the marathon by a few feet. Talk about one helluva kick! Watch this video to relive the incredible comeback by the man now known as “Wrong Way” Silva.
