Portland Marathon

Oregon Health and Sciences University did not directly discourage runners from participating in the mass event, but stated it was "doing everything" to avoid burdening overloaded hospitals.

The non-profit running and walking event kicks off on October 6.

The California marathon is now partnering with races in neighboring Oregon.

They presented a check for $4000 to the Parks and Recreation Department.
