Yesterday’s TCS New York City Marathon was one for the books. Not only did it garner the some of the fastest-ever course finish times by the elites, but we also saw the first American ever to win in the men’s wheelchair division. And while only one American earned a podium finish in the men’s and women’s pro fields (Go, Shalane!), we saw seven others make the Top 10.

With clear skies and temperatures in the mid-40s yesterday, 51,812 runners crossed the finish line on Sunday, breaking the record for the most finishers of any marathon in the world. Because finishing a marathon is no easy feat, we wanted to celebrate you, our fearless, strong and flat out crazy runners who trekked 26.2 miles across NYC. Here are some of our favorite Instagram posts from yesterday’s event.

heart. there’s something about the marathon. whether you’re running against the clock, against your previous self, in memory of someone you love, to celebrate or fight against cancer, to prove to yourself what you can do—it’s all about love. perfect moment captured by @peetigga ❣️ #nycmarathon #tcsnycmarathon #nikenyc #projectmoonshot #projectmoonshotnyc #worlderunners

I had a goal to run a marathon in all the 50 states, I got to see most beautiful places and meet amazing people along this journey. It was a blast running with more than 50,000 participants winding 26.2 miles through all five boroughs in New York City. #nycmarathon #nyc #marathon #50states #optoutside #outdoors #50statesmarathonclub #tcsnycmarathon
