You know you need to be well-hydrated on the run, and if you find yourself trying to lose weight, it’s another reason to turn to the tap.

“Being dehydrated by just 2 to 3 percent can impair aerobic performance by up to 10 percent,” says Prudence Athearn Levy, a registered dietitian, licensed nutritionist and trail runner in Edgartown, Mass. “And, being even slightly dehydrated makes it more difficult for you to lose weight.” She says to aim for eight to 10 glasses of water every day.
