The Details
We have liftoff: Straight out of the box, the adidas Solar Glide delivers an out-of-this world experience, thanks to a thoughtful design taken straight from the playbook of a rocket propulsion laboratory.
The jet fuel behind the Solar Glide is adidas’ proprietary Boost midsole, which offers a stellar combination of cushioning and responsiveness. The turbocharged Boost material keeps every step charged with an endless supply of light, fast energy. Unlike other foams, which compress over time, the Boost stays fresh and springy, no matter how many miles you log. For a smooth stride, the Boost midsole utilizes a unique Solar Propulsion Rail to help support and guide the foot.
The sole is encased in a Continental Rubber outsole, which utilizes the same material that provides superior traction for car tires in slippery conditions. This grippy sole provides reliable traction in a variety of conditions, yet remains flexible for optimal movement of the foot.
The mesh material, modeled after the gloves NASA astronauts wear in space, hugs the foot in all the right places to provide a supportive, chafe-free experience.
The Bottom Line
The adidas Solar Glide is a lightweight shoe with impressively responsive cushioning, making it a perfect choice for the long run. The more energy a runner puts into the adidas Solar Glide, the more energy they’ll get.
