These new trainers from Brooks embody the never-sleep spirit of New York and the iconic vibe of the marathon all at once. Inspired by the pop art style that became popular there in the ‘60s, this shoe seeks to honor the city and the runners who trek through its streets with bold designs and colorful images. Featuring symbols such as the Statue of Liberty and a big red apple, running in these shoes is sure to motivate you as you make your way through the boroughs. Plus, their neon yellow, blue and red colorway makes them a fun choice for those who want to stand out amongst the crowd.

Saucony NYC Kinvara 9 – $110

Saucony’s NYC Kinvara 9 goes deep into the history of New York City to explore what is at the heart of it: freedom. Along with featuring the stars and stripes of our nation’s flag and the face of Lady Liberty, the trainers also include an excerpt from the poem The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus. “Give me your tired, your poor/Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” wrote Lazarus in 1883. Her poem resides on a plague in the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty to this day. The Kinvara 9 taps into this history and celebrates the city’s rich culture so that you can show your patriotism even while running.

Asics Gel-Kayano 25 NYC – $160

This classic Asics shoe is reimagined for the New York City Marathon with its bold new design. With a colorful rainbow print reading “New York” across the side, the all-black shoes are bold but still toned down enough to wear even after the marathon is over. The Gel-Kayanos provide a non-resistant fit with a multi-directional mesh for added breathability. If you tend to over pronate or have low to flat arches, these are good shoes to check out.
