Mizuno Wave Cabrakan 2–($125)
“Overall, I think these shoes are great trail shoes; nice security and stability and structure for rough terrain and gravel trail running.”
In contrast to the Ascend 5, the Cabrakan 2 has a much closer fit and stiffer ride. There is plenty of support and underfoot push-through protection, and the Cabrakan’s water- resistant uppers serves well in snow. Members of the test team enjoyed the secure fit, firm midsole feel, structure and stability and the outsole traction. Testers recommended the shoes—although not for people with wide feet—for both running and hiking on trails.
