Hi-Tec V-Lite Infinity HPI–($135/$130)
The end product impressed our testers.
2010 Winter Running Shoe Review
Hi-Tec has effectively melded a running platform with a plastic-shanked dual-density midsole and Vibram outsole, and a supportive and lightweight upper that is coated with a hydrophobic Ion-Mask. The end product impressed our testers. The lower-volume seamless upper comes in on the narrow side, and the midsole is dense enough that it offers plenty of underfoot protection for rugged trails and feels firm underfoot while still absorbing shock. The rigidity makes for an abrupt transition that reflects Hi-Tec’s lightweight hiking heritage.
