Comfort, fit and an anti-bacterial treatment make this T-shirt a must-have for runners.
Polyester technical T-shirts used to be exciting because they were better than cotton—they could breathe, wick sweat and magically keep you both warm and cool! All that was wonderful until they started to smell. Since technical tees were created, manufacturers have been trying different ways (some more effective than others) to keep running clothes odor neutral. The new Ignitor Tee from Outdoor Research uses the antimicrobial benefits of silver, in the form of Polygiene, a silver salt agent. The treatment, made from recycled silver, is safe for use against your skin and doesn’t wash out, meaning it wards off odor-causing bacteria for the life of the shirt. Plus, the heathered fabric has a soft feel, flat seams and, in our testing, hasn’t snagged despite being worn with a running pack. (The Ignitor is available in men’s and women’s styles and also comes in a long sleeve version for $59.)
