Growing race-day philanthropy into something as common as an everyday run is the premise behind the Boston-based running apparel company Janji. Former college track and field teammates Dave Spandorfer and Mike Burnstein took runners’ awareness of nutrition and hydration to another level by creating a running apparel company that donates a portion of its proceeds to help fight and educate others about the global food and water crisis. The brand’s mission is to “Run for Another,” and it is manifested through the designs of its line of soft polyester/cotton blended T-shirts, moisture-wicking running shorts, tights and headbands. The Janji line includes collections that celebrate and highlight Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Peru, Hati and Bangladesh, plus a special-edition series it created for the Boston Marathon.
