Woman Attempting First-Ever Marathon Feat

Louise Stenild will be going for something never achieved by a woman: running seven marathons in seven days, on seven continents.

Louise Stenild  is trying to run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.

Her first marathon was in Antarctica; her second was in Santiago, Chile–both were run under five hours. On Monday, she ran the Los Angeles Marathon course. Next stops for Louise Stenild: Sydney, Australia; Singapore; Cairo, Egypt, and finally London, England.

Stenild confirmed that she was contacted by the Guiness Book of World Records about her attempt. She is attempting this feat to raise money for the Adam Rogers Trust, which was established in honor of a 13-year-old by the same name who died of a brain tumor.

According to Stenild, “Failure is not an option.”
