Webb, Willis Continue Their Comebacks

The former Michigan Wolverines raced well in Italy on Friday.

Reigning Olympic 1,500-meter silver medalist Nick Willis of New Zealand and American mile record holder Alan Webb, both coming back from devastating injuries which kept them sidelined for much of the last year, continued their comeback in grand fashion in an 800-meter race  in Padova, Italy on Friday night.

Willis, who ran 3:59.73 to finish second in his first race back at the Falmouth Mile in mid-August, finished fourth on Friday in 1:46.89. Webb, who opened up his season with a 1:52.32 showing in the 800 meters on August 14 in London and followed that up with a 3:41/14:15 double in the 1,500 & 5,000 meters last weekend, ran 1:48.34 to finish eighth in the 12-man field.
