Wanjiru Asks For Added Security In Kenya

The Kenyan recently won the 2008/2009 World Marathon Majors Series.

Olympic marathon champion Sammy Wanjiru of Kenya has asked the Kenyan government to increase security around his home. He has had two break-ins recently and believes that his home is under threat.

Wanjiru spent much of his life in Japan, and made to reservations in saying he would happy to move there if necessary. If Wanjiru left Kenya due to his issues with the Kenyan government, he would not be the first. Former Kenyans have recently moved or changed citizenship in order to get better treatment and payments from other governments. Countries that have supported Kenyas most recently include Qatar and Bahrain.
