Video: Trailers For “Unbroken” Film

UnbrokenHere are the official trailers for the forthcoming movie, “Unbroken,” a feature-length film about Louis Zamperini, an American World War II prisoner of war survivor, inspirational speaker and Olympic distance runner who died on July 2. The film, directed by Angelina Jolie and adapted by brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, will be in theaters on Christmas Day. The film is based on Lauren Hillenbrand’s 2010 book, “Unbroken.”

Zamperini placed eighth at the 5,000-meter run in the 1936 Olympics with a 56-second final lap that apparently caught the eye of German dictator Adolf Hitler. Zamperini enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served as a bombardier on a B-24. His plane was shot down in 1943, but he survived 47 days at sea with two other crewman in a life raft, only to be captured by the Japanese Navy and tortured for more than two years in a prisoner-of-war camp. The movie profiles his life from a rebellious kid to Olympic runner to inspiration war veteran.
