Sally McRae, a Nike Trail athlete, finished this year’s Western States Endurance Run in 21:24:43, making her the 10th female to cross the line and the 57th overall runner.
A new film by Billy Yang follows her journey to the grueling 100-mile race, how she qualified to run it, the self-doubt that creeped in during her training and how she made it through the event itself.
This year was McRae’s first appearance at Western States. Her top-10 result earned her a spot in the 2015 edition of the prestigious event.
