U.S. Trail Running Titles Up For Grabs
Dobson, Lucas headline 15K Championships in Spokane.
Former Stanford cross country and track athletes Ian Dobson and his wife Julia Lucas will make rare off-road appearances this weekend at the first U.S. 15K Trail Championships on Saturday in Spokane, Washington.
The 15K isn’t the only trail championship on tap for this weekend, however, as the 50-mile Championships will take place across the state in Enumclaw, while the 100-mile Championship is slated to take place at the fourth annual Burning River 100 Mile Endurance Run in Willoughby, Ohio.
Dobson and Lucas are the favorites to take the 15K titles, while 2007 50-mile national champion Greg Crowther headlines the 50-mile field in Spokane. In Ohio, 2008 50-mile champ Eric Grossman will challenge 2009 50-mile champ Todd Braje for victory on the men’s side, while Connie Gardner, the 2006 U.S. 100-mile champion, headlines the women’s field.
