Kenya’s athletics governing body has suspended two distance runners after the pair failed drug tests.
Salome Biwott was banned from competition from January of this year until January 2015, while Jynocel Basweti’s suspension is retroactive to July 2012 and runs until July 2014.
Biwott’s marathon personal best is 2:26 and last year she won races in Germany and Finland. Basweti’s 26.2-mile best is 2:14 and he won the 2007 Austin Marathon.
In February, Athletics Kenya suspended three runners for using performance-enhancing drugs.
