Nike refurbishes parts of popular route and installs 36 new mile markers.
If you run, walk or bike along Chicago’s popular Lakefront Path these days, you might notice some work has been done to the area, along with a few new mile markers. Chicagoans have Nike to thank for the recent improvements.
Partnering with the Chicago Park District, Nike has cleaned up parts of the path and installed 36 markers every half mile along the 18-mile stretch. The signs feature the well-known “Swoosh” of the footwear giant, which donated $100,000 to fund the project.
