A day after she publically announced her return to athletics competition, Caster Semenya was give the red light until June by Athletics South Africa. The South African governing body for track and field says that Semenya’s gender tests results will be finalized in June and she must wait until then to compete.

In a statement yesterday Semenya vowed to return to competition as early as this week. She has been waiting for results of her mandated IAAF gender test since last fall. Semenya won the 800m world championship last summer in Berlin.
