Salazar’s Group Separates From The OTC

The runners are once again wearing the all-black Oregon Project jerseys.

His runners are once again wearing the all-black Oregon Project jerseys.

According to an article posted on the Oregon Live Web site, Alberto Salazar’s training group will no longer be running under the auspices of the Oregon Track Club and will once again be called “The Oregon Project”.

“My group only, my six athletes, will be recognized as [the] Oregon Project,” Salazar said. The six athletes he was referring to are: Adam Goucher, Kara Goucher, Dathan Ritzenhein, Galen Rupp, Alan Webb and Amy Yoder Begley.

Salazar’s group had been competing in the green Oregon Track Club jerseys last year, but had recently switched to the all-black singlets this year.

Regarding British athlete Mo Farah who recently switched coaches to Salazar, he is not under contract with Nike. “I am coaching him. That’s all I can say right now,” Salazar said.

The article confirmed that Rupp, Webb, and Salazar, who were expected to be in earthquake-ravaged Christchurch, New Zealand for the International Track Meet this weekend, are safe and sound in Australia.
