Running the Appalachian Trail–In Five Minutes

Virtually run the Appalachian Trail in under five minutes.

It took ultrarunner Karl Meltzer 54 days, 21 hours and 12 minutes to run across the Appalachian Trail in 2008. Now, thanks to hiker Kevin Gallagher, who spent six months covering the same 2,174 miles, AT lovers can virtually run the trail in under five minutes by watching Gallagher’s video, below.

If you take Brooks Running’s suggestion to replace your running shoes every 300 to 500 miles, Gallagher just saved you four to seven pairs of shoes. And maybe a run in with an angry bear.

Thanks to the Adventure Blog for bringing this video to our attention.
