The 2015 Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon featured a new course in 2015.
Over 12,000 runners took to the scenic streets of the “Big D” today at the Humana Dallas Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon. Of all the competitors hitting the pavement one got the treat of a lifetime by winning the race and setting a personal best on her birthday of all days. Fort Worth resident Lauren Versweyveld prevailed in one hour, 19 minutes, and 14 seconds. The 25-year-old, a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, defeated second-place finisher Jen Frankmann (1:21:15) by over two minutes.
“I didn’t really know how I’d do going into it,” an elated Versweyveld admitted about how she felt she’d do before the starting gun sounded. “I was hoping for a PR since it was my birthday. The weather ended up being perfect for a PR. The crowd support was great. I love the Rock ‘n’ Roll races; they are so much fun. I loved the bands at the mile marks.”
