Run With Meb to Kick Off the Inaugural Silicon Valley Half

To kick off his latest venture, four-time Olympian, Olympic silver medalist, Boston and New York City Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi will take part in a Q&A on Wednesday, April 11 at Sports Basement Campbell ahead of the Silicon Valley Half (SVH) Marathon festivities. The running legend is a founding investor in the Silicon Valley Half, 10K and Food Truck 5K which will be held on April 14 and 15 in San Jose, CA.

During the week, guests will get the chance to participate alongside Meb in a variety of community-engagement events between April 11 and 12. “This is a chance for me to connect with the Silicon Valley community and share in the inaugural Silicon Valley Half race week excitement,” shared Meb. “The event will be inspirational, raise money for local education, and it is exciting to be part of launching this signature Silicon Valley sporting event.”

Beginning on April 11, the “Run with Meb” event will take place from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and includes a group run from 6-7 p.m. Following the run will be a live panel with Meb from 7-7:30 p.m. which will be streamed on the event’s Facebook page. Viewers can also ask questions via Twitter at @reprunning.

The Silicon Valley Food Truck 5K will take place on Saturday, April 14 and will include a local food truck as its lead vehicle. Following the race will be the Food Truck Festival on Saturday at Arena Green East featuring live music, Barefoot Wines and local breweries in the beer garden.

On Sunday, the inaugural SVH Marathon and 10K will begin at San Jose’s City Hall. Although Meb will be in Boston during the SVH weekend, runners can connect with him via the Motigo app which enables users to receive motivational messages from champion as well as friends and family. The app will also feature Meb’s tips and inspirations at different stages of each race.

The SVH benefits the Silicon Valley Education Foundation and is being organized by Represent Running. Registration for all races and events is still open and runners can sign up on
