Patrick Rizzo and Nick Arciniaga have parted ways with the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project and joined up with groups in Boulder and Flagstaff respectively.
Rizzo, a former seven-time Division III All-American at North Central College, has enjoyed success post-collegiately. He was the third American in the 2009 Boston Marathon and has a personal best of 2:15:48 for the distance. Rizzo will move to Boulder, Colorado to train out of the Runner’s Roost running specialty store. Mizuno USA has signed Rizzo to a three-year endorsement deal.
Arciniaga, a product of Cal State Fullerton, has made a strong impact on the American marathoning scene over the past few years. He was the top American at the 2008 Boston Marathon and set a personal best of 1:03:22 placing 7th at the 2010 US Half Marathon Championships in Houston. Arciniaga leaves to train with the adidas sponsored McMillan Elite group in Flagstaff, Arizona.
