Regassa, Keitany Blaze To Wins In Abu Dhabi

Top-three men and women combine for $900k in prizes.

Ethiopian Tilahun Regassa and Kenyan Mary Keitany took home the top prizes at the 2010 Zayed Half Marathon in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Regassa, the runaway winner at the 2009 Falmoth Road Race, went out hard with a group of Kenyans and pulled away for to take the title in a new personal best 59:17. Regassa was followed by Kenyan Sammy Kitwara and Ethiopian Lelisa Desisa

Keitany, the reigning half marathon world champion, took the early lead and held on for the victory in a time of 1:07:14. Fellow Kenyan Philes Ongori took second, followed by Ethiopian great Dire Tune. Keitany set a personal best in winning the 2009 world championship, where she clocked an impressive 1:06:48.
