This week, Reebok announced the formation of its new pro running club which will be led by former Syracuse running coach Chris Fox. The Reebok Boston Track Club’s first major signing was Justyn Knight, seven-time All-American, 2017-18 NCAA Division 1 Cross Country champion and 5000-meter champ for Syracuse University.
“Reebok has a long history in running and is a brand that has always helped athletes push the limits of performance,” said Knight in a release. “It’s an honor to be the first member of the Reebok Boston Track Club and be part of the Reebok family. I obviously know Coach Fox well and I’m excited to work with him to develop and hone my skills on the track in the years to come.”
Along with Knight, Jamaican distance runner Kemoy Campbell, Former Penn State runner Tori Gerlach and former Syracuse athlete Martin Hehir will join the team’s roster. With its new global headquarters in Boston, the club will spend a majority of its training time there and part of its time training in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The new club will also assist in cultivating new running products for the brand and will play an integral role in bringing innovative footwear to the market. “This is a great day for Reebok Running. The Reebok Boston Track Club will help us elevate our product offering and solidify our presence as a major player in the category,” said Reebok President Matt O’Toole. “To have Coach Fox lead this team, and Justyn as a founding member, gets us off to a great start. Coach Fox’s expertise in coaching athletes through technique, mental toughness, and creating a winning team culture make him the perfect leader to not only lead the club, but also to help us in the development of Reebok performance running product.”

As Reebok gets back to its roots in the running industry, it has been making more strides to enhance its performance footwear products to meet the demands of serious runners. Among its latest innovations was the introduction of its Floatride foam cushioning and Flexweave upper technologies.

We checked out both the Reebok Floatride Run Fast Pro and Floatride Run Fast’s this month and are already noticing large improvements as racing shoes. Both are lightweight (3.5 oz. and 6.9 oz., respectively) and extremely breathable, with the Pro’s being the more minimalist option for those who enjoy fast runs. At this year’s Boston Marathon, elite Tyler Pennel wore the latter during the race and secured 4th place, while Nicole DiMercurio wore the Pro’s and came in 6th in the women’s open division.
The Reebok Boston Track Club hopes to add around 10 more athletes to the team and will begin competing in late 2018.
