American road racing ace Aaron Braun set a new record at the GO! St. Louis Half-Marathon on Sunday.

His winning time for the 13.1-mile event was 1:03:13, a course record. Twenty-four-year-old Jordan Chipangama came in second in 1:03:22, while Josphat Boit of Little Rock, Ark., took third in 1:03:52.

In the women’s race, Mattie Suver also was able to set a new course mark. Her winning time was 1:12:22. Suver’s time was a significant improvement over Serena Burla’s old mark of 1:14:13. Second and third place went to Tera Moody and Sara Kiptoo.

Braun and Suver each won $10,000 for their victories.

The men’s marathon went to Geoffrey Kiprotich, who clocked a time of 2:20:00 — another course record. Finishing 36 seconds behind was Mark Chepses. Mario Macias was third in 2:21:49.

The women’s marathon winner was 33-year-old Autum Ray, who broke the tape in 2:51:28. Kiprotich and Ray each won $1,500.
