Trail Running In Italy’s Gargano National Park
Located on the Adriatic Sea along the east-central coast of Italy near the historic olive harvesting town of Mattinata, Gargano National Park and the surrounding hillside and coastal terrain offer up an amazing treasure trove of trail running routes. With a dedicated trail system, amazing seaside landscapes and rich local culture, it is the ultimate place for a destination running vacation. The area also hosts Gargano Running Week, a multi-day running festival held Oct. 8-11 that includes trail races from 13K to 77K, historical tours, festive post-races parties and a 13K non-competitive Gastro Run. Click through the photos to get a glimpse of some of the trail running scenes in the region.
