The Last Laps In The Metrodome

A 31-year running tradition came to an end on Dec. 26 in Minneapolis as more than 100 runners gathered for the final evening of running inside the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The stadium closed for good on Dec. 29 after the final Minnesota Vikings game. A new stadium is in the works with an expected opening date of 2016. Photographer Wayne Kryduba captured the last night of running, which included organizer Rick Recker saying a few words of appreciation and leading a ceremonial “Last Lap,” as well as a marathon relay that finished in about 2:25. Check out Kryduba’s images below. Read more about the last night of running in The Metrodome.
