Participants hit the Pavement at Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon

The event started and finished under the iconic Space Needle, which was transformed into the world’s largest starter’s pistol

Thousands of runners took over the streets of Seattle to participate in the 7th Annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon, a signature Seafair Event. To mark the official start of the race the Space Needle was transformed into the world’s largest starter’s pistol and launched a round of thunderous comets from its 200’ platform to begin the race. Participants from all over turned out to compete in the marathon, half marathon and 8K. Grunge rock band and hometown favorite, Mudhoney headlined the post race concert at Seattle Center.
