Oiselle’s Flagship Store Grand Opening

Scenes from Oiselle's first retail store grand opening.

The flock has officially flown from the nest—two blocks from it to be exact. On July 9, Oiselle held a grand opening for its flagship retail store in Seattle’s University Village shopping center. Residents and invitees got a first look at the new store space and had the opportunity to meet Oiselle athletes Kara Goucher and Lauren Fleshman, as well as the women’s sports apparel brand’s founder and CEO Sally Bergeson.

“The Oiselle store is a physical expression of our brand, thus having a place not only for product, but also for our team and family was very important,” Bergeson said.

Specially made shirts were also made for the opening, repping the brand’s origins, “Born & Raced in Seattle.” The grand opening was then followed by a reception at The Landing for food and drinks in celebration of the momentous occasion in Oiselle’s 8-year history as an established running brand. As Oiselle’s new retail operations director, Katie Woodruff will be taking the lead in building the company’s store strategy.

“At Oiselle we want to support our running community and having a place for people to gather is important,” said Goucher, who was autographing pamphlets for fans at the event. “I personally find it rewarding as the opening was well attended and supported. It feels like we are really growing into a significant and groundbreaking brand.”
