Check out this rugged but stunningly beautiful 55K trail race.
Iceland’s Laugavegur Ultra Marathon is a rugged but stunningly beautiful 55K trail race across the center of the small island country known for, among other things, volcanoes, hot springs, waterfalls and the ancient Vikings. The Laugavegur Trail is located in the southern highlands of Iceland and connects the nature reserves Landmannalaugar and Thorsmork. Iceland’s Boosts Steingrímsson won the 2013 edition of the race, while Colorado’s Gina Lucrezi was the women’s winner.
