Great Day for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia 5K

Former University of Arizona All-American Lawi Lalang won today’s inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia 5K with a time of 13:29. Lalang’s time was the fourth-fastest run in the world this year and the fastest ever in the State of Pennsylvania. Four-time Olympian Bernard Lagat finished second and U.S. Half Marathon Record Holder Deena Kastor paced the 8 min per mile group to complete the first half of the Remix Challenge. Participants who complete two days of running will earn the coveted Remix Challenge medal, which will be awarded at the finish line on Sunday.
