2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll DC Marathon and 1/2 Marathon

The Rock ‘n’ Roll D.C. Marathon presented by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield made history on Saturday. For the first time since the race was founded back in 2006, the event proudly carried the name of our nation’s capital in its title—and for good cause, since the Rock ‘n’ Roll DC Marathon is the only race that runs entirely through the city. In the men’s marathon, 33-year-old Patrick Moulton of Providence, Rhode Island broke the tape, clocking 2 hours, 32 minutes, and 54 seconds, running in cold and rainy conditions. Meanwhile, the women’s marathon ended up with close finish. Martha Nelson, a Washington D.C. resident, edged out Rebecca Bader by a mere 17 seconds. Nelson’s winning time was 2:55:36. Elizabeth Conlon was third in 3:02:27.
