It was an exciting weekend in the world of marathoning on April 17 & 18, as both the London and Boston Marathons were held on opposite ends of the Atlantic Ocean. On Sunday, April 17, it was Kenyan Emmanuel Mutai who broke the tape in London with a 2:04:40 clocking, a course record and the first sub-2:05 performance ever on the rocket-fast layout. The next day, his namesake, Geoffrey Mutai, one-upped his countryman with a startling 2:03:02 blitzing of the historic Boston Marathon route. It was a course record by 2 minutes and 50 seconds and the fastest marathon ever run. Check out these great photos of the marathoning Mutais by PhotoRun.net.
