Pamela Anderson Talks Marathon Training

She's running her debut in New York at the beginning of November.

She’s running her debut in New York at the beginning of November.

In just six weeks, former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson will run the ING New York City Marathon. Anderson is tackling the 26.2 miles in order to raise money — $500,000 — to support the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, a non-profit founded by actor Sean Penn.

The J/P Haitian Relief Organization seeks to assist the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the Caribbean nation three years ago.

“I like to do things that people think maybe I can’t do, and this is definitely one of those things,” Anderson told the New York Daily News’ Lauren Johnston. “You know, somehow I learned to dance, learned to skate, and all these things that people thought I couldn’t do. Now, I’m running a marathon.”

Anderson’s training for the race hasn’t been too intense, with 5-mile runs every other day. Her longest run has been 10 miles.

“Now I get how fun it is, how great it is,” she says. “I’m sweaty and I’m running, and I still want to run more. I’m getting into a groove.”
