Based in the running Mecca of Flagstaff, Arizona, the adidas-McMillanElite team has quickly become one of the nation’s premiere training groups. In late July, the team will offer its first running camp for high school runners.
“This is a chance for the future of the sport to rub elbows with our team and coaching staff. These high school runners will ‘Live the Life’ for a week in late July where they will learn about training, nutrition and injury prevention. They’ll hear directly from elite athletes as to how they went from high school running to choosing a college to becoming a pro,” said Coach Greg McMillan.
In addition to running on the trails in and around Flagstaff with the adidas-sponsored athletes, campers will visit the Grand Canyon, enjoy individual time with the elite athletes and get to know and learn from their fellow campers.
The camp starts on July 31st and ends on August 5th. Details can be found on the camp’s website and spots are filling up fast. There is a special preview video that is a must see for high school runners looking for a once in a lifetime chance to visit with pro runners in what many describe as the best training location in the world. There will also be a special opportunity for the coaches to socialize with one another and talk training with Coach McMillan.
As an added bonus, all teams of 5 or more athletes each receive free adidas shoes.
