Running USA has profiled the top runners for the 39th edition of the Quad City Bix 7, an annual footrace held in Davenport, Iowa that kicks off on Sunday.

Wearing bib No. 7 is none other than one of the top American runners currently competing, Meb Keflezighi, who won the New York City Marathon in 2009. Earlier this year, Keflezighi took fifth at the U.S. 10K Championships.

Seeded ahead of Keflezighi are a pair of Kenyans: Silas Kipruto and Peter Kamais.

Kipruto has won two consecutive Bix 7 races and if he wins this year, he will make history, becoming the first runner to go three straight.

Meanwhile, in the women’s race, American hopes are pinned on Desiree Davila who will wear the No. 10 bib. Davila took second at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon.

Kenyan Caroline Rotich is the top seed for the women. The Kenyan won the 2011 edition of the race and placed second last year.
