The popular chef is also a sub-3:20 marathoner.

Michel Roux Junior is the head chef at Le Gavroche restaurant in London. He is also the head presenter on the popular television show, MasterChef. But he’s also been up to something else these days: running. The 50-year-old chef has run more than a dozen marathons, including the ING New York City Marathon. The London Marathon, however, is his favorite. At that race, he will raise money for The Evening Standard’s “Aid to the Dispossessed” campaign.

Since it was launched six months ago, the charity has raised nearly $8 million.

When working at his restaurant, Chef Junior tries to incorporate training between lunch and dinner. His PR is an impressive 3:13.

According to an article posted on This is London’s Web site, the chef recommends a glass of red wine the night before the marathon and has also written a recipe book for runners to use while completing their marathon training.
