Even though he won both the Boston and ING New York City Marathons doesn’t mean that Geoffrey Mutai is unstoppable.

Kipchirchir’s winning time was 1:01:45.

Peter Kimelin was the runner up a second later, while Mutai clocked 1:02:13.

“It was an excellent run by the three of us but I’m happy with the win especially after beating my rival Kimelin and Mutai and now look forward to make the shift to the full marathon,” said Kipchirchir after the race.

Grace Momanyi won the women’s division in 1:11:42. She was the defending 10,000m champion from the Commonwealth Games.

Phyllis Ongori and Pauline Njeri took second and third respectively.
