Keitany To Chase 25K Record In Berlin

Kenyan should shatter standing record.

Kenya’s Mary Keitany is the most feared woman in the world on the roads. She won the 2009 world half marathon championships in 66:36 and missed the world record in the event by a mere eleven seconds. So what lies next for Keitany?

On May 9th the Kenyan will chase the world 25K record at the 2010 BIG 25 Berlin. The current world record of 1:22:13 was set by Japan’s Mizuki Noguchi during the 2005 Berlin Marathon. With Keitany’s current personal best of 62:59 for 20K it seems only logical she will make a mockery of the current record.

The 2010 BIG 25 Berlin starts in front of the Olympic Stadium and ends with a lap on the famous blue track inside.
