American Meb Keflezighi has taken some time to rest, welcomed a new baby into his family and is ready to get back to the roads that brought him his first world marathon major victory. The 2009 ING New York City Marathon champion will return to the Big Apple to race the NYC Half Marathon as a tune-up race prior to his bid for a second consecutive world marathon major victory in Boston this April.

It will be a tough task for the defending ING New York City Marathon champion as the race will welcome the world’s greatest runner Haile Gebrselassie. The Ethiopian world record holder for the marathon, Gebreselassie was the 2007 NYC Half champion and will certainly look to repeat in 2010. Additional Americans to join Meb and Geb for the March 21st race include Olympic steeplechase finalist Anthony Famiglietti, three-time Olympian Abdi Amdirahman and former NCAA cross country champion Josh Rohatinsky.
