Shelly-Ann Fraser fails drug test for painkiller Oxycodone.

Conspicuous by her absence at Thursday night’s IAAF Diamond League meeting in Lausanne was Olympic and world 100-meter champion Shelly Ann-Fraser of Jamaica. It was announced earlier in the day that the 23-year-old Fraser was was found to have failed a drug test for the painkiller Oxycodone at the Shanghai Diamond League meeting on May 23 and had withdrawn her name from the Lausanne start list.”I will go home and have a hearing before my federation in Jamaica,” Fraser told BBC Sport. “I have nothing to hide.”

Fraser reported taking the narcotic — given to her by her coach, Stephen Francis — to offset the pain from three tooth fillings she had performed prior to the Shanghai meeting. Oxycodone is listed as a banned substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency, but is not known to have any performance-enhancing qualities.
