Jamaican Sprint Star Wins Laureus Sportsman Of The Year Award

Track and field stars sweep 2009 Laureus awards.
As if Usain Bolt wasn’t getting enough attention already this year, he added to his fame this week, capturing the 2009 Laureus Sportsman of the Year award. The Jamaican sprinting sensation joins Russian pole vault world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva as this years recipients. Bolt has seemingly recovered 100% from his car accident earlier this year, and will be returning to the track tonight in Toronto.
In other Bolt news, he has announced that he won’t go for an attempt at triple individual gold in 2012 at the London Games. Olympic organizers were actually contemplating the idea of rearranging the athletics schedule in order to accommodate the attempt. Oh well…
