Is Gebrselassie Reconsidering His Retirement Decision?
The world-record holder in the marathon recently Tweeted he needs more time to think things over.

The marathon world-record holder needs more time to think things over.
After his shocking retirement announcement on Sunday, Haile Gebrselassie has now expressed his first hint about reconsidering that decision.
“What a disappointing weekend, I didn’t plan to come back to Ethiopia this way. I wanted to succeed in New York,” Gebrselassie wrote on Twitter. “Now it is time for me to think about a lot of things. I still love running. I will always run. Just give me some time to think things over.”
Recent NYC champion and fellow Ethiopian Gebre Gebremariam hopes to convince Gebrselassie to keep at it. “When I get back home I will start to speak to him to try to make him think again. He has to run two or three more races. I think he will change his mind,” he said.
Gebrselassie had dropped out of the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday due to a knee injury near the 16-mile mark.
