UPDATED
Some top contenders will not even get to toe the line in Eugene.
Reports have surfaced that will keep Olympic decathlon gold medalist Bryan Clay, 800m Olympian Andrew Wheating and 110m hurdle bronze medalist David Oliver out of the USATF Championships in Eugene, Ore. this weekend.
Clay has “tweaked” his left hamstring in preparations this week and has officially announced he will no longer be able to compete in the competition.
Oliver and Wheating have announced they are out of the competition sighting recent injuries.
As none of the three athlete are defending world champions, if they do not compete this weekend they will not be able to compete in the World Championships in Berlin this August.
