Two big road wins in a row for American 5,000-meter record holder.

She won the national 5K road racing championships in her adopted hometown of Providence just two weeks ago, and today Molly Huddle added a U.S. 10K crown to her rapidly growing resume, capturing the Tufts 10K For Women in Boston with a winning time of 32:00.

Huddle finished four seconds ahead of second-place finisher Genoveva Kigen of Kenya, and 16 seconds up on third-place finisher Jen Rhines of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., who was the second American runner across the finish line. Team USA Minnesota’s Katie McGregor was the third American, finishing fourth overall in 32:44.

Joan Benoit Samuelson, who set a U.S. 50-54 age-group record of 2:47:50 at yesterday’s Bank of America Chicago Marathon, flew to Boston afterward and competed at the Tufts race this morning. She finished 60th amongst the field of 6,690 women, running 40:26.
