Report Shows Heart Damage Does Not Last For Runners
A new study reveals that heart damange may occur for some runners, however the effects are not sustained.
In a study from Canada, researchers have found that runners may incur some heart damange after a long-distance race, but the damange is not long-lasting. The issue has been in the limelight since the death of national-class marathoner Ryan Shay in the 2008 US Olympic Team Trials Men’s Marathon. With all of the recent worries about health and marathoning it is nice to see a study with positive news. We hope to see more studies that will help calm the fears of runners and non-runners alike.
